Residing in Pain

I trace your face, of what once were
My fingers grace, contours which blur
A haunting trace, mirages wane
My oasis once, now filled with pain

How I wish we were still the same.

Distance fills us, our paths don’t touch
Lives filled with loved-others and such
Stripped, beaten to our naked core
If only you and I could be once more

How its hurts knowing we’ve foregone our lure.

I close my eyes, your hands in mine
Your essence caresses, dresses divine
Your smile dances on my broken lips
I refuse to forget our love, don’t slip

Yet, already I know, you and I chose to r.i.p.*
